Who will become OsloMet Association of the Year and win NOK 20,000? You can nominate an association, including your own, from 1 May to 1 June each year.

Every year, the Association of the Year is chosen at OsloMet - the Metropolitan University. This is a competition among OsloMet's associations, and rewards one association's extra outstanding work in the previous year.

Student associations that have distinguished themselves through initiatives, activities and efforts with significant positive and sustained contributions to the study and learning environment at OsloMet can be nominated and win the award. An important criterion for winning is that the association works extra hard to welcome and take care of its members.

The deadline for nominating associations is June 1 at 11:59 p.m. each year.

What do you win?

The winner of the Association of the Year will not only receive honor and glory - but also 20,000 kroner in prize money!

How will the process work?

From May 1 to June 1, you can nominate associations that deserve the Association of the Year award. You nominate by filling out a form that will be made available during the period. Please write in detail so that the jury gets a good picture of what the association has achieved - it can make a big difference.

After the nomination period, the jury meets to read through all the proposals and select three finalists. The finalists will be announced at the end of June.

In the fall, the winner of the Association of the Year will be revealed, who will receive a diploma, flowers and a large check for 20,000 kroner.

Who can be nominated and who can nominate?

All individuals, units and associations at OsloMet - Storbyuniversitetet and in SiO can nominate associations for the award, and it is allowed to nominate themselves. Associations that are nominated must have done outstanding work in the previous academic year, i.e. autumn 2024 and spring 2025.

PS: This is not the time to follow the Jante law - if you don't nominate, you won't win anyway.

The jury emphasizes the following factors:

  • Good digital operation and adaptability during the corona situation.
  • The activity must be student-led and preferably initiated by students.
  • The activity must engage students in activities in the student community at OsloMet.
  • The activity must contribute to highlighting student engagement at OsloMet.
  • The activity must benefit fellow students.
  • The activity must be of high quality and be characterized by orderliness and orderliness in the formal conditions.
  • The activity must be inclusive and involving.
  • The activity must be based on voluntary and unpaid effort.
  • The activity must stimulate the students' professional development and strengthen the integration of academic and leisure activities at OsloMet.
  • The association works extra hard to welcome and care for its members.
