Christiania Blåseensemble

Christiania Blåseensemble is a student run wind orchestra, that was founded in 2008. The ensemble is established of and for the music students in Oslo. It’s social, inspiring and provides the opportunity to improve as an ensemble musician and person. The orchestra consists of students in the Wind and Percussion departements of the Norwegian Academy of Music and Barratt Due Institute for Music, and is led by a voluntarily hired board with monthly meetings. Even though most of the students belong NMH and BDM, it is possible to apply as an external student. CBE was based om a wish to offer students something their insitutions could not, which is the opporturnity to play in a wind orchestra on the highest level in Norway. Our institutions offer ensemble courses in the form of symphony orchestra and smaller chamber groups, but not wind band. We are studying to become professional musicians, and a big part of the work field is the professional wind ensembles in Norway. That makes the relevant experience CBE offers, crucial for our future as musicians.
