Foreningen Blindernrevyen/Blindern Revue
UKA på Blindern is a non-profit organisation and student festival organised on a voluntary basis by the 250 residents of Blindern Student House, together with other engaged students in Oslo. The festival takes place at Blindern Student House, located just a stone’s throw from the University of Oslo’s Blindern campus.
The festival consists of ten days filled with revue performances, concerts, lectures, debates, stand-up comedy and parties. The event grew out of the Blindern Revue, a tradition dating all the way back to 1931. Since 1961, the UKA festival has been held every odd-numbered year.
In the 1990s, UKA på Blindern became part of a network together with UKA in Trondheim, UKEN in Bergen and UKA in Ås. Together, these make up the four student festivals with the longest traditions in Norway.
Blindernrevyen is an organisation under UKA på Blindern and is responsible for producing the historic Blindern Revue.

Our activities
At the heart of the festival is Blindernrevyen, one of Blindern Student House’s oldest and proudest traditions. Over the years, the revue has helped foster a number of prominent figures in Norwegian cultural and public life. Well-known directors and former residents who have taken part in Blindernrevyen include Per Asplin, Ole Paus, Håvard Lilleheie, Solveig Kloppen, Hans Flock, Steinar Sagen, Trond Brænne, Totto Osvold, Arne Schau-Knudsen, Arne Torp and Bentein Baardson.The revue is something the residents of Blindern Student House are extremely proud of, and many dedicate a great deal of time and effort to creating unforgettable moments on the revue stage.
The revue committee typically consists of a revue director and a deputy director. Other roles include positions responsible for makeup, costumes and props. These positions are often filled by residents who contribute on a voluntary basis. We usually hire two external directors to help develop and stage the performance. It is essential that these directors receive compensation, as this allows us to bring in people who have the time and opportunity to make a substantial contribution to the production.
Work on the revue begins as early as the spring, when sketches are written for the performances taking place in January and February the following year. Many residents contribute significantly to this process, and I would go as far as to say that the majority of the Student House’s 250 residents have some influence on how the revue ultimately takes shape.
Around November 2026, we plan to organise the traditional event “Revysus”. For this event, several former actors from previous Blindern revues return to Blindern Student House. Revysus helps preserve and pass on our long-standing revue tradition, showcases timeless sketches and motivates current residents to get involved in the upcoming revue production. The event is particularly meaningful because many of the sketches still hold great significance for the Student House and its residents today.
Revysus also serves as an internal platform for promoting UKA på Blindern and encouraging residents to get involved and contribute to the festival, which takes place only a few months later.
