Deichman invites you to a creative afternoon with needle, thread and good company 🧵

The Embroidery Afternoon is an informal meeting place for everyone interested in embroidery and textile crafts. Here, both experienced embroiderers and curious newcomers meet to create, share ideas and gain inspiration from each other.

Bring your own project, or be inspired by the patterns and materials available on site. Maybe you have a garment you want to repair or decorate, a half-finished embroidery that deserves some attention, or a completely new idea you want to explore. We draw inspiration from traditional embroidery crafts, but use it as a modern tool for creative and personal expression. Here, the focus is on the joy of creation, exploration and progress – not perfection.

Craftswoman Justyna Skowronek (@plants.on.people) and author of Blooming Embroidery (PRESS, 2025) will be present for guidance, inspiration and professional input along the way.

Practical info:

- Open to everyone from 12 years and up.
- The event is held in Norwegian and English.
- We will be there for 2.5 hours – come whenever it suits you within the time frame.
- Some materials and selected patterns are available – feel free to bring your own projects.
- We are happy to accept donations of used textiles such as cotton, linen and embroidered tablecloths.
- Limited number of places – please cancel if you cannot come.
- The event is not a course, but an open creative workshop and community.
