About the event

Euthanasia

The right to live – the right to die?

Wednesday, 28 October, 17:00
Store Auditorium, Rikshospitalet

The Norwegian Medical Students’ Association and the Ethics Council invite you to an evening about euthanasia/assisted dying. We will be joined by several experts who will offer different perspectives on the topic, including legal, philosophical, and medical perspectives.

What is euthanasia?

Should Norway permit euthanasia?

What might the legalisation of euthanasia look like?

What consequences could the legalisation of euthanasia have?

What would it mean for Norway as a country and for our values, to permit versus prohibit euthanasia?

Is there a significant difference between limiting treatment, as is practised today, and euthanasia?

Are there alternatives to euthanasia?

What do you think?

Students from all fields of study, as well as anyone else who is interested, are more than welcome.

We hope to have a good conversation, with opportunity to ask questions, engage in the discussion, or simply listen in an open atmosphere.

We hope to see you there!
