About the event

Welcome to a Plot/Oslo workshop! Explore the technique of filet crochet with Marte Mestad.

Filet crochet is a crochet technique that uses double crochets and chain stitches to create a grid-like pattern, mimicking the embroidery technique known as "filé" (net darning or lacework).

Before the workshop begins, participants will join a short art discussion within the Astrup Fearnley collection, focusing on contemporary artists who incorporate traditional crafts and textiles into their work—such as Britta Marakatt-Labba and Synnøve Anker Aurdal.

During the workshop, you will be introduced to the technique and have the opportunity to start your own small project based on a pattern of your choice. You get to keep the crochet hook, allowing you to finish your piece at home if you don’t manage to complete it during the session.

The event is free of charge, but registration is required. Participants must be between 18 and 25 years old and members of Plot/Oslo.
