Do you want to learn more about how to use a sewing machine and basic sewing techniques? Come to a sewing course at Deichman! 🪡

This is a beginner's course in basic sewing skills. We focus on how the sewing machine works. The course covers, among other things, stitch length, stitch width, threading the upper/lower thread, stitch tension, sewing machine feet/equipment, sewing machine needles, sewing machine thread, sewing arches, sewing angles, sewing a simple zipper.

The course day ends with the participants choosing a sewing kit and sewing it as a project with guidance and an instructional video. Alternatively, you can bring your own project that you would like guidance on.

Practical info:

The course is suitable for both beginners and those with some previous knowledge, and is adapted for participants from 15 years of age and up. Younger participants should participate with an adult. The workshop has all the materials you need for the course, and you only need to bring your own lunch. If you wish, you can bring your own sewing machine.

Registration opens one week before the course date, at 08:00. It is free to participate. You do not need any prior knowledge.

The course leader is Mariann Munthe. She is an associate professor in arts and crafts, with a master's degree in textiles. The day course is conducted by her Power Your Wardrobe.
