Student Chess at The Good Knight

About the event

SjakkMet is excited to announce our new partnership with Norway’s premier chess pub, "The Good Knight." It promises to be an evening filled with fun, chess, and prizes. Participation is completely free, though we encourage everyone to purchase something since the event is held at a bar. Please note that The Good Knight has a minimum age requirement of 20, unfortunately, those under 20 cannot participate.
Arrival is by 17:45, and the tournament begins at 18:00. We will play five timed games, with each player receiving 10 minutes plus a 5-second increment per move. You certainly don’t need to be an expert at chess, basic knowledge (knowing how the pieces move) is sufficient. No prior tournament or clock experience is required either, the rules will be explained before the tournament starts, and if you’d like to learn, you are welcome to arrive a little early.
We are giving away plenty of prizes: awards for the top three finishers and the best female player, plus three prizes awarded through random draws, where we select a random table, and the winner of that specific game takes the prize.
