Volunteer as Faddervakt (Safety Patrol)

About the event

Would you like to help create a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable start to the semester for new students?

Faddervakt (Safety Patrol) is a volunteer initiative that helps ensure the start of the semester is a positive experience for students, buddy leaders, and others spending time in the city centre.

Together, we can provide a warm welcome and create a positive environment for the beginning of the academic year.

⏰ August 14 and 15, 9:30 PM–3:30 AM
📍 Volunteer station at Youngstorget or Spikersuppa
🙋‍♀️ We welcome volunteers from student communities, educational institutions, and anyone else interested in serving as Faddervakter

What does a Faddervakt do?
As a Faddervakt, you help create a safe and welcoming atmosphere during the start of the semester. All volunteers take part in a joint introduction and briefing before their shift begins.

Afterward, Faddervakter staff the information stand, hand out water and light refreshments, and serve as a friendly and approachable resource for students enjoying the city.

Faddervakter will also maintain a visible presence in the city centre by walking in groups through areas where many students gather. You are welcome to sign up together with a friend.

The Faddervakt initiative is a collaboration between the Velferdstinget i Oslo og Akershus, UiO, OsloMet, BI, Kristiania University College and SiO. Together we welcome students to the academic year in a safe and positive way.
