Register as Faddervakt
Register as a faddervakt and join us at the stand at Youngstorget or in Spikersuppa. You are welcome to register with a friend. As a Faddervakt, you will be at the stand, handing out water bottles and snacks, and being there for students who are out on the town. In addition, we will be visible in the cityscape with groups of Faddervakt walking in the most popular areas.
Meetingtime and place:
Either Friday, August 15 and/or Saturday, August 16. Meeting place: The sponsor guard stand at Lawo, opposite the corner of Karl Johan and Universitetsgata, or at Youngstorget.
Meeting time: 9:30 PM for the safety briefing. Faddervakt is starting at 10:00 PM and ends at 3:00 AM.
This happens during the event
Here is a short description of what you will be doing during the event:
- Brief at the start
- Attending the stand handing out water and something to eat to the students
- Go on Faddervakt-rounds in groups with other volunteers
- Be available to chat with students that might need it
- Help make new students feel welcome in the city
The Faddervakt-event is inspired by similar initiatives in Bergen, Agder and Trondheim, as well as the Lykkepromille projects. We want to be visible and present, and to show that we care.
The semesterstart weeks are sometimes criticized for alcohol use in social settings. Through the Faddervakt-event we want to help ensure that new students have a good experience this weekend.

Faddervakt is voluntary and is aimed at students and employees at higher education institutions who want to help make the start of their studies a safe and good experience for new students, and others who are out in the city.
