About the event

Welcome to a green and relaxing break from exam reading!

Forest bathing (also known as Shinrin-Yoku) is about taking in the forest atmosphere with all your senses, in a way that provides better health, increased calm, focus and well-being. Forest bathing also contributes to a feeling of closeness and contact with nature, ourselves and each other. This is not a trip where you bathe in water, but where you bathe in sensory impressions from the forest and everything that lives in it.

Program
We meet at Sognsvann and walk into the forest to find a nice and quiet place. The guide leads an exercise to awaken your senses and become aware of the forest around you. You will then receive various customized invitations to explore and sense the forest. Between each invitation we will gather in a circle. The forest bath ends with a simple tea ceremony with tea made from local beneficial plants. When the tea ceremony is over, it is optional whether you want to go home or stay a little longer in the forest to process the experience.

What you should bring
∙ Dress for the weather (it can get chilly when we sit quietly in the evening)
∙ Seat pad
∙ Teacup
∙ Mosquito repellent if you are bothered by insects
