miniUKA på Blindern: Sportsday

About the event

On Tuesday, August 18th, UKA på Blindern invites you to "Sports Day" during miniUKA at Blindern. Don't let the name fool you—it is not an athletic sports day at all. This day consists of sack races, a quiz, and "pitch an association." A day with FREE food and a grand prize! Sports Day is designed to offer a simple and fun event for your student association to recruit new students and strengthen your current group.

Together with our partner, Tekna, we will be handing out FREE food to all students in the area at 5:00 PM. Gourmet hot dogs with various toppings will be served, providing a relaxed and easy way for your association to mingle with both new and returning students.

From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the fun continues with various activities in a scavenger hunt. Here, your team (association) can start collecting points and get to know each other better.

After the scavenger hunt, BILLA BAR and four other bars in the area will open—we also have outdoor seating!

At 8:00 PM, we kick off "PITCH AN ASSOCIATION" on our stage! This is your chance to showcase your association to the rest of the students. Hold a short pitch introducing who you are, who should join, and anything else you would like to present. Finally, a fun opportunity to introduce your student organization somewhere other than 'SiO Foreninger'! Want to pitch? Send a PowerPoint presentation to arrangement@blindernuka.no.

After the pitch session, you will have the chance to mingle and recruit among other students across our various bars. At 10:00 PM, our hosts will hold a quiz in the different bars where you can earn even more points. Get other students to join your association's quiz team!

At midnight (12:00 AM), a prize from Tekna will be awarded to the winner of "Sports Day." Points from the scavenger hunt and the quiz will be combined, so participate in both to maximize your chances of winning!

We at UKA på Blindern understand that engaging new students can be challenging. That is why we have tailored a day that will make getting to know new associations FUN.

Schedule for the Day (Tuesday, August 18th):

5:00 PM: FREE food distribution

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Sports Day and outdoor activities

7:00 PM: Billa Bar opens

8:00 PM: Pitch an Association

10:00 PM: Quiz

12:00 AM: Award ceremony!
