The most common support schemes
Noen støtteordninger legger svært få føringer på hva pengene skal brukes til, men har som generelt mål at de bare skal øke aktiviteten hos de frivillige og bidra til at mer skjer.
The Welfare Council's Cultural Board allocates approximately 2.9 million kroner per year. The money is taken from the semester fee and can be allocated to all student associations in Oslo and Akershus. Applications are processed at the Cultural Board's meetings, which take place approximately once a month. The deadline for applying is often approximately two weeks before the meeting date.
The Cultural Board supports most events as long as the association's members are not given significant priority, as long as no one is excluded/discriminated against, and as long as the initiative benefits students.

UiOs Activity Funds
As of June 12, SiO Associations will administer the support scheme on behalf of UiO. Here are some updates to the criteria:
Maximum support amount of 10,000 kroner
Applications are assessed on an ongoing basis
New associations can apply for up to 5,000 kroner for start-up
Applications should be sent to foreninger@sio.no marked "Application for UiO activity funds"
Green Fund
As part of UiO's climate and environmental work, the Green Office offers financial support for green projects or activities. Do you have an idea for an event, academic initiative or measure that can help make UiO more sustainable? Apply for Green funds!
Who can apply?
Students, employees and student organizations at UiO. Students and employees must apply through a department, faculty or student organization. Applications involving both employees and students will be prioritized.
What can you apply for?
You can apply for up to 30,000 NOK for new initiatives and activities that create engagement around UiO's climate and environmental goals. We are particularly looking for projects that:
- create interaction between employees and students
- link knowledge to action
- are relevant to the goals of the Comprehensive Climate and Environmental Strategy and/or the Action Plan
- can lead to lasting measures, activities or changes and can have ripple effects in the society around us.
How to apply?
You apply using this online form where you describe the project, purpose, a timeline and budget. You will then be contacted by the Green Office for either a possible clarification dialogue or a response to the application.
The form is always open, but submitted applications will be processed after our submission deadlines which are 1 October, 1 December, 15 March and 1 May.
Social package OsloMet
The social package is an application scheme for catering for social student activities at OsloMet. You can apply for support for activities for cohorts, classes, student groups, associations or similar. The scheme is assessed for each academic year if funds are allocated. You can read more here.
Voluntary student associations at Blindern can also apply for volunteer funding from the UiO district. The money is awarded for initiatives that stimulate increased engagement and community, document volunteer efforts, unpaid work, or aim to prevent exclusion.
The application deadline is December 1 of the year before the grant year. Amounts from NOK 100,000 and above require auditor-approved accounts. Application categories include voluntary cultural life, local community initiatives, health and welfare, sports and outdoor activities, and environment and sustainability.
Frifond Barn og Unge
Application deadline: processed on an ongoing basis. Frifond Barn og Unge grants a maximum of 35,000 kroner to each group. This sum can be divided over several applications for several projects.
PS: If the association is not registered in the Voluntary Register, you can apply for up to 20,000 kroner in the calendar year. If the association is registered in the Voluntary Register, you can apply for up to 50,000 kroner in the calendar year.
Organisations that are both national, voluntary and democratic can apply for support through this scheme if they work with children and youth.
There is a requirement to have several local branches in at least two counties, in addition to at least 100 local branches if you have a limited recruitment base. If the organisation is too small, the local branches can apply directly from Frifond Barn og Unge.
